iTunes (More Music)...
This'll be relatively short, but it just goes to show the problems with the recording industry (not the bands themselves, just the infrastructure they're a part of). I was looking on iTunes for a few random songs, after getting an email from Continental Airlines giving me 5 free songs for purchasing a ticket for this Friday. So I'm on there, and I'm having a look around in the Rock: Top 100 Songs list, just to see what's popular these days, when I see this:
81) Drowning Pool - Bodies
95) Daniel Powter - Bad Day
Take a listen to those two songs, and you'll see what I mean. Geez, who categorizes this stuff, anyway, the geniuses behind She-Hulk...!?
Music...
Meg (hi, Babe) just introduced me to a new band called The Click Five. They're, well, ... fantastic. Undoubtedly the best power pop group currently in existence, and probably one of the best ever. They seem to be half Fountains of Wayne, half Relient K, and half Matthew Sweet. And before you ask how three halves can make a whole......yes,...yes they can..................Anyway, that's just the way they sound--more than a whole.
This also just makes me realize that I don't really find good new music very often. Previous to this was the John Mayer Trio, previous to that was Jamiroquai's album Dynamite, previous to that was Imogen Heap and Frou Frou, previous to that was The Donna's album Gold Medal, and previous to that was Brendan Benson, which was almost a year ago to the day (it was right before finals of spring semester, last year).
On a completely unrelated note, I finally got an interview with Boeing, with the Systems Engineering and Integration - safety group for the Space Shuttle down in Houston. Haven't received an offer yet, but I should be hearing one way or the other soon. Looks like a very interesting position.
Crunch Time...
So, after discovering and/or revisiting a number of very interesting blogs (most, if not all about aviation), I've decided to force myself to post more often here, no matter how random. Also, thanks to Meg, there will be some updates to the structure coming soon. But not now. Its 4:45, and I need sleep. But for now:
This is why I want to become a pilot. Let's bring back the badassness of commercial aviation.
